Since the change of hands in the ownership of Viking Offshore and Marine Limited (“VOM”) in November 2021, VOM has undergone a major makeover as it sought and won shareholders’ approval to diversify its businesses, raise funds, dispose of its offshore and marine business and change its name to 9R Limited (“9R” and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”).
9R, a versatile name stemming from the new management’s ambition to Rebuild, Reborn, Restore, Recreate, Revamp, Reform, Revive, Remedy, Recast the then VOM ship, reflects the Group’s direction going forward after the takeover. The Group is now principally involved in two new businesses—the supply chain management and lifestyle retail.
9R’s founders, who have passionate interest in the technologies surrounding IR 4.0 such as automation, robotics and AI, seek to enhance the operations of various industries such as food and beverage (“F&B”), sanitisation and hospitality services through providing robots powered by AI and at the same time, offer technologies and machinery that can assist businesses to manage their supply chain in whole or in part.
9R’s subsidiaries, Diverse Supply Chain Sdn Bhd (“DSC”) and Diverse Supply Chain (SG) Pte Ltd (“DSC SG”), are the principal subsidiaries managing and running the Group’s supply chain management business arm focusing on the distributorship of AI-powered robots and solutions across Malaysia and Singapore markets.
The Group’s lifestyle retail arm is being built on a portfolio of family-friendly premium karaoke outlets catering to patrons from all walks of life and backgrounds. Red Box Plus, a well-known premium karaoke brand in Malaysia is the Group’s first brand in its lifestyle retail business with the outlet located at the deluxe mall, Pavilion Elite, Kuala Lumpur.
9R’s subsidiary, 9R Leisure Sdn Bhd, is at the forefront spearheading and managing the Group’s lifestyle retail business. The Group will continue developing this business through several channels and efforts with the objective to build a portfolio of lifestyle brands that have strong consumer appeal.
